Project Overview
This Mumbai rooftop was completely bare concrete, unused except for storage, on a home overlooking the city skyline. The brief was to turn it into a genuine outdoor room for evenings and weekend gatherings.
The Challenge
Weight limits on the rooftop structure ruled out heavy soil beds, strong winds stressed young plants, and there was no existing irrigation or drainage in place.
The Solution
We used lightweight raised planters with wind-tolerant grasses and shrubs, ran a discreet drip irrigation line, and added a timber deck with low lighting to make the space usable well after sunset.
The Result
The completed rooftop now feels calm, inviting, and naturally connected to the home.
